Attributes of Allah (SWT)

It is mentioned many a times in the Quran that Allah is only One, He has no partners, equals or family. He has been here forever and is everlasting. He is All-Able by Himself, and achieves anything He wishes by command; when He commands, “Be it”; it becomes. He is All knowing, possessing the knowledge of the past, present and future; He knows what is manifested and what is hidden, He knows what is buried in our hearts, no one equals Him in knowledge. He shares His knowledge with, whomsoever He wishes and as much as He wishes.

He has created this universe and all the things within this universe–with His knowledge and power, and He is sustaining all these things with His power and knowledge. Everything on this earth will vanish one day, and we will be gathered before Him to give an account of our life on earth. He is the owner of the Day of Judgment.

He is All-able, All-Seeing, All-Hearing, All-Watching. He has complete control of His affairs. He does not begot, He was not begotten, does not get tired, and does not sleep. He does not have and does not need a family; He has no son or daughter. He does not need help from anyone. He is self sustaining.

He has many other attributes like. To name a few: He is Forgiving, Loving, and full of mercy, He is most Holy; He is Protector; He is Sovereign; He is Dominant; He is Forbearing; He is Wise; and He Just;  He is Exalted;  He is Great; He is Sustainer; He is  Omnipotent; He is Majestic; He is Mighty; He is Magnificent; He is Discreet One; and He is Clement. Given below are some of His attributes in detail as mentioned in the Qur’an.

Muslims recite this name before every surah (chapter) of the Qur’an except one (Surah Taubah). This name also appears 57 times at other places in The Qur’an.[1]

[And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks? [67:3]

The Creator (Al Khaliq)

The Originator of the heavens and the earth! How can He have a child, when there is for Him no consort, when He created all things and is Aware of all things? Such is Allah, your Lord. There is no god save Him, THE CREATOR of all things, so worship Him. And He take care of all things. Vision comprehends Him not, and He comprehends (all) vision. He is the Sub tile, the Aware. [6:101-103]
