Outstanding Facts about Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
Welcome to Quran for Humanity channel, here we discuss various topics about the Quran. Today we will discuss a few outstanding facts about the prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
He was sent as a messenger to all mankind……7:158
This is an extremely important fact, prophet Muhammad (PBUH)….was sent as a messenger to entire mankind. Earlier God has sent multiple messengers since the arrival of mankind on this earth, but all of the earlier messengers were sent to a particular community, nation or for a particular time. Say for example if a messenger was sent to a place in Iran, it was necessary for the people of that region to follow him, it was not necessary for the people far away region or people of other countries to follow him, and if a messenger was sent to China, it was not necessary for the people of Africa or any other place to follow that messenger.
But prophet Muahmmad (PBUH) was the first and last messenger who was sent to entire mankind for all time to come, no other messenger will come after him. Therefore, since his arrival, it became essential for every person on this earth to follow his teachings. This is applicable till the end of time. This is applicable to us as well.
The message he conveyed was, “…….O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of Allāh to you all, [from Him] to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death. So believe in Allāh and His Messenger….. and follow him that you may be guided……”
This message is still applicable to all of us even today.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was sent as a mercy to entire mankind. 21:107,
Prophet Muhammad was a truthful and honest person from his early age, people of his society used to call “The Truthful” and “The Trustworthy”. He used to help and care for the people around him. He was caring and compassionate for the needy, destitute and orphans even before he was gifted with the prophethood, this was a great mercy in itself.
But the biggest mercy was that, that The Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The Quran was the source of guidance for the people who were present at the time of revelation and is the source of guidance for the entire mankind since then. Now The Quran is source of guidance for those who are present today and for those who will come till the end of time, this is the biggest mercy. Through The Quran we learnt how to know God- what is the truth and what is falsehood – how to differentiate between right and wrong.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) explained The Quran to us –through his words and his actions, all thinking of prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and all his actions were influenced by the Quranic guidance. Through his example humanity learnt the ethics and morals of life, the spiritual and ritual aspects of the religion – in fact he taught us every aspect of life. He was the greatest reformer mankind has ever seen. He guided the entire world to the light of truth and peace, and this is how he was a mercy for the entire mankind.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) – is the seal of the prophets (33:40),
Allah said in the Quran that Muhammad (PBUH) is the seal of prophets (33:40), means he is the last prophet, no more prophet will come after him. And since he was sent to all of the mankind for all the time till last day, his teachings must be taken seriously, they are binding upon all the mankind for all to time to come.
As per one of scholars of Islam, this remark -the seal of prophets – it points at excellence, distinction and the perfections of prophet Muhammad. Because in general all things progress gradually reaching completion at the highest stage.
Seal of the prophets also means that this is a crucial matter; it implies that religion has been completed with him, and this fact is also confirmed in the Quran by Allah in 5:3 – “I have perfected your religion for you and have completed My blessings upon you.”
Prophet Muhammad was unlettered.
Prophet Muhammed was unlettered, he never received formal education so he was unable to read or write. Yet through him the Quran was brought to mankind. He pulled the society out of ignorance, superstitions to enlightenment.
He taught humanity through The Quran the information about the unseen –about God, about paradise and hell. He taught humanity how to know God- how to get connected with our Lord, our creator. Through the Quran he taught us what is truth and what is falsehood – how to differentiate between right and wrong.
Prophet Muhammad was unlettered yet he guided humanity to most pious and beautiful way of life, he taught his people best morals and ethics, which human society has never seen before. He created the bond of mutual love and respect between people of different status, nations, tribes, races and colors. He was sought to meditate and to settle the differences in the society. He made the society who were fighting each other for decades into a cohesive and civilized nation within a short period of time. He created support for orphan, he came as emancipator of women and raised their status —gave them dignity and honor.
