The central theme of the Qur’an is guidance to humanity about the oneness of Allah (SWT).

The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion.2:185

Indeed, We sent down to you the Book for the people in truth. So whoever is guided – it is for [the benefit of] his soul; and whoever goes astray only goes astray to its detriment. And you are not a manager over them.39:41

Guidance as per the Quran is knowing and accepting the fact that no one except Allah (SWT) is worthy of worship. He is The Creator of all that is in the universe and He is The Sustainer, we should know Him and follow His commands.

Throughout the Qur’an, the importance of oneness of God is stressed repeatedly. The Quran calls upon the people to use their intellect and reasoning capacities to understand the truth (the oneness of Allah {SWT}). The Quran rejects worshiping other gods besides The God (Allah {SWT}). No one share His authority, ascribing partners to God is strongly prohibited in the Quran.

The Quran also teaches us to establish a personal and direct relationship with The God. And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me – indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided. 2:186

ONENESS OF GOD,

Understanding and accepting the oneness of God is the essence of guidance, it is reiterated multiple times with various combinations of words; that ALLAH IS ONLY ONE – NO ONE IS EQUAL TO HIM, HE DOES NOT HAVE PARTNERS OR SON. SO DO NOT WORSHIP ANYONE EXCEPT ALLAH AND DO NOT JOIN OTHERS IN HIS WORSHIP.  It is mentioned in the Qur’an that Allah (SWT) may forgive all the sins of a person if He so wishes, but he will not forgive ascribing partners to Him; this is the biggest sin a person can commit.

Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills. And he who associates others with Allah has certainly fabricated a tremendous sin. 4:48

Verses on oneness of God.

And your god is one God. There is no deity (worthy of worship) except Him, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. 2:163

Allah – there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence…..2:255

That is Allah , your Lord; there is no deity except Him, the Creator of all things, so worship Him. And He is Disposer of all things. 6:102,

Do not make [as equal] with Allah another deity and [thereby] become censured and forsaken. 17:22.

And say, “Praise to Allah , who has not taken a son and has had no partner in [His] dominion and has no [need of a] protector out of weakness; and glorify Him with [great] glorification.” 17:111

Say, “He is Allah , [who is] One,

Allah , the Eternal Refuge.

He neither begets nor is born,

Nor is there to Him any equivalent.”   112:1-4

6:119, 7:158,  9:31,16:22, 16:51, 18:110,20:8,21:22,23:91,27:62-64,28:70,28:88, 112:1-4,

No Partner (No Subordinate), Opponent, Rival.

This is just an extension of the oneness of Allah (SWT), but the Qur’an emphasizes the oneness of Allah by mentioning that Allah does not have any equal, partner, subordinate, or son.

And say, “Praise to Allah , who has not taken a son and has had no partner in [His] dominion and has no [need of a] protector out of weakness; and glorify Him with [great] glorification.” 17:111

Allah – there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. 2:255

And [mention, O Muhammad], when Luqman said to his son while he was instructing him, “O my son, do not associate [anything] with Allah . Indeed, association [with him] is great injustice.” 31:13
