What God Does for Us?

We don’t see God anywhere around us – nor do we see any of His workforce – doing anything for us on a day to day basis. So, it is not surprising that so many people wonder —does God exist or What — God does for us….so today we will discuss what — God does for us?

The list of what God does for us is long. But first and foremost, let’s see  -three most important things – He already did for us and it is hardly on anyone’s mind except a few God conscious people. So, let us see what God already did for us. We would like to remind our audience at this point that Allah is Arabic name for God so we have used both the names in our discussion.

First thing Allah did for us is,

1.    Allah Created Entire Universe

The Quran claims – that it is Allah, who created this universe and everything in that at some point of time. Scientific discoveries also confirm – that there was nothing before – and then the universe came into being from a big bang. Existence of universe is the pre-condition for our existence. Our existence would not have been possible – if the universe was not existing before us. From the verses from the Quran we come to know that it is God who created this universe and everything in it. So, this is a kind of very first thing – God did for us and we owe our thanks and praise to God for doing this for us. Here are the verses from the Quran mentioning this fact.

[All] praise is [due] to Allāh, – who created the heavens and the earth – and made the darkness and the light. 6.1

And We did certainly create – the heavens and earth and what is between them in six days,-  and there touched Us no weariness. 50:38

Indeed, your Lord is Allah, – who created heavens and earth in six days – and then established Himself above the

Throne……7:54

2.   Another thing God did for us – is that God gave us Existence.

For us personally – this is the most important act or rather a favor – He did to us. We would not have been in this world -without He giving us our existence. We must remember – there are basically two parts to our existence. Our soul and our body. He gave existence to our souls by His command long before He gave us our bodies through our parents. Giving us existence is a big therefore we owe our subordination and devotion to Him.

Following are the verses from the Quran that inform us that Allah created us, He gave us life, and we owe our existence to Him

O mankind, – worship your Lord, – who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous. 2:21

O mankind, – fear your Lord,-  who created you from one soul – and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. 4:1

O humanity! – Indeed, We created you from a male and a female, – and made you into peoples and tribes – so that you may ˹get to˺ know one another. 49:13

3.   Another thing Allah did for us –  is that Allah created everything for us.

This is an extremely important point, which would not have occurred to us, – had it not been mentioned in the Quran.  Allah created the earth and the skies; – He created the sun, which brings us light and gives us heat, – causes the water cycle and enables agriculture. Sun helps formation of clouds – and air helps to carry clouds and deliver it to the dry land. Allah created the earth as our abode – and the air and water which are essential for our survival and sustenance. He created the sky as a canopy that saves us from the harmful effects of the sunrays, He created many more things like these. But the important point is that He created everything in the universe for us. How else we could have survived and prospered had these forces of nature were not organized in our favor.

It is He – who created for you all of that which is on the earth. Then He directed Himself to the heaven, [His being above all creation], and made them seven heavens, and He is Knowing of all things.  2:29.

And He has subjected to you – whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth – all from Him. Indeed, -in that are signs for a people who give thought.  45:13
