O MANKIND VERSES PART 2
The Magnificent Quran was revealed some 1440 years ago as guidance to mankind. In the Magnificent Quran, The Magnificent Almighty God -Allah SWT, has addressed to different groups of people, which we have seen our last video – “Audience of the Quran”. One of the groups was “mankind”.
The verses revealed in the The Magnificent Quran to this group generally are with the address of “O Mankind”. Instructions and admonitions revealed in the Magnificent Quran for mankind in general are still relevant and applicable today.
As per the Magnificent Quran every human has knowledge of God ingrained in his/her conscious, but sometimes because of external social affects, it slips deep down in conscious. So essentially instructions of the Quran are not new to mankind, verses of the Quran (ayats of the Quran) are just reminders for what already exists deep within the conscious of a human.
O mankind addresses are to the entire mankind, and usually through these verses (ayats of the Quran) entire humanity is reminded of favors of Allah to mankind, His power, His attributes and His control over everything in this universe. Our attention is also drawn to the fact that everything around us (forces of nature) has some purpose and they are designed with great intelligence and wisdom.
Addressing these ayats (verses) of the Magnificent Quran (all of O mankind verses) to the entire mankind is very significant, based on this address these ayats (verses) of the Quran are applicable even today. Had this final message not been addressed to all mankind, later generations would have had an argument against God that they did not receive any message.
A great emphasize is laid on the points like, Muhammad is the true messenger and The Magnificent Quran is the true book of guidance, we will be resurrected and brought back to God for reckoning of our deeds in this world, Day of Judgment is very difficult day. Reward of good deeds in the hereafter is great.
Human kind is instructed to Believe in Magnificent Allah and His unlettered prophet (Muhammad), worship (true) Lord, fear (be mindful) of Lord and remember that there is no God but He. If we choose guidance it is for our own benefit and if we ignore it is at our own peril.
Let’s study few ayats (verses) today.
4:170
O Mankind, the Messenger has come to you with the truth from your Lord, so believe; it is better for you. But if you disbelieve – then indeed, to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and earth. And ever is Allah Knowing and Wise.
This ayat (verse) of the Quran means, Muhammad (PBHU) has come to you with truth (The Magnificent Quran), the religion of truth and clear proof from Allah. Therefore, believe in what he has brought to you and follow him, for this is better for you. If anyone refuses to believe, that will not make any difference to Allah, because Allah does not need anyone or anything, whatever is in the heavens and in the earth belongs to Allah. He is all powerful, but disbeliever will be a great loser. We need Allah, The Magnificent Allah does not need any one or their faith.
4:174-175
O mankind, there has come to you a conclusive proof from your Lord, and We have sent down to you a clear light. So those who believe in Allah and hold fast to Him – He will admit them to mercy from Himself and bounty and guide them to Himself on a straight path.
The words “conclusive proof and clear light” are referring to the Magnificent Quran. The style, structure, eloquence and the message discussed in the Quran are the clear proofs that this is a divine work and it cannot be the word of man. It carries the mark of its author, God, the Glorious.
The Magnificent Allah informs all people that a plain, unequivocal proof has come to them from Him. One that removes all possibility of having an excuse, or falling prey to evil and doubts. So whoever believe in Him, He will admit them to His mercy.
7:158
Say, [O Muhammad], “O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you all, [from Him] to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death.” So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered prophet, who believes in Allah and His words, and follow him that you may be guided.
This verse is very significant as it commands Prophet Muhammad to declare that “I am messenger of Allah to you all – entire mankind”. Prophet Muhammad is the prophet to entire mankind and he is also the last prophet sent to mankind.
Command is given to entire mankind to believe in the Magnificent Allah and follow His messenger to receive guidance, dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah. He is the one who gives life and He causes death. The most important thing is that there is no deity except Him and we will be gathered before Him after death.
